Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) has undertaken diversified anti poverty initiatives with the active participation of the community in order to empower them economically and socially.
As a part of social security measure, SERP has initiated various social security interventions for the poor and the poorest of the poor by empower in the Zilla Samakhyas to play an active role in the implementation.
In this respect, Call Centers are established and Bima Mithras are positioned in all the 22 Districts of Andhra Pradesh for providing quick and quality service to the insured members at their door steps particularly for payment of interim relief of Rs.5000/- as funeral exigencies within 12 hours of the death of the insured member.
This Operational Manuel provides useful information and technical aspects for the SHG members, their federations for implementing various low cost micro insurance products initiated by the Government of India as well as Andhra Pradesh. It illustrates the process right from awareness & enrollment to Claim settlement, establishing Call Centers, development of social capital, positioning of Bima Mithras, best practices for providing quick and quality services to their own community members at their thresh holds.
